Downtown Seguin: Colorful Trade Days

As my friend Nancy and I wondered around downtown Saturday capturing photos, I took many closeups of the colorful windchimes in one of the booths.

Downtown Seguin: Magnolia Hotel

My friend Nancy and I spent all of Saturday morning wondering around downtown and browsing the booths of Trade Days for photos. I'll be posting several of the photos I took over the next few days. This post contains photos of one of the historical buildings in Seguin: the Magnolia Hotel. It is one of the stops along the "True Women" tour. For those of you unfamiliar with "True Women," it is the story of the women of the Alamo and the title of the book by Janice Woods-Windle. Check out the True Women website for more information about the tour and the other historical sites of Seguin.

The Magnolia Hotel was built in 1842 and was one of the first structures in Seguin to use concrete.

Nancy and I challenged one another in our photography venture Saturday. One of those challenges was to depict the passage of time without photographing a clock. For my passage of time photo I chose to take pictures of the Magnolia Hotel:

Downtown Stroll

Last night I met a friend downtown for coffee. Afterward we, along with our daughters, went for a stroll. This is just one of the photos I shot during our walk.
